Miss World Philippines is telecast in GMA7

Miss Philippines World
Cory Quirino is happy that GMA7 has partnered with her to televised the Miss Philippines World this coming July. SM Holdings is one of the major sponsor of the event. The pageant right to select a candidate to represent Philippines in the Miss World Pageant was awarded to Cory Quirino by Julia Morley and in fact she went to the Philippines to gave the franchise.

The winner for this pageant will receive One Million Pesos, a brand new condo unit and the right to represent the country for Miss World Pageant. This is the first time that a national pageant in the Philippines will give more than a million peso price. I hope other organization will follow to encourage more beautiful ladies to join.

Here is the news about Miss Philippines World:

Opisyal nang pumirma ang beauty and wellness guru at Chairwoman and CEO of CQ Global Quest na si Cory Quirino with GMA-7 bilang official TV network partner ng Miss World-Philippines 2011.

Naganap ang contract signing between Cory and GMA executives Mr. Jimmy Duavit (Executive Vice President and COO) and Ms. Wilma Galvante (Senior Vice-President for Entertainment Television) noong nakaraang Martes, March 22, sa boardroom ng GMA Network Center.

"They only gave me three minutes to decide if I want it or not!" natatawang pagbabalik-tanaw ni Cory sa panayam sa kanya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

"It was only in January of this year that Ms. Julia Morley talked with me with regards to the Miss World franchise. They really asked for me and they wanted an immediate answer if I would agree to handle the Miss World franchise.

"Like I said, they only gave me three minutes. Since I [only] had that short of a time time, I prayed to the Lord for a sign. Should I accept it or not? I immediately got an answer kaya hindi pa tapos ang three minutes, I said yes to them.

"I know that this will be a big challenge on my part. I've worked with many people before but this is the first time that I will embark in a national pageant. It's nerve-wracking but I accept the challenge. I know that God will always be there for me and guide me through everything."

Nakausap ng PEP si Cory sa formal launch ng Miss World-Philippines 2011 last Wednesday, March 23, sa SMDC Grand Showroom sa SM Mall of Asia Complex.

FORMAL TURNOVER.

"God is so good talaga. I never expected that it will all happen so fast. Parang kelan lang na kinausap nila ako for the handling of the franchise and we had a successful turnover.

"Then last Tuesday lang, official TV network na ng Miss World-Philippines ang GMA-7. If all of these are not God's work, I don't know what it is.

"Naniniwala kasi ako na kung hindi para sa iyo, hindi magaganap. But all of these blessings are coming in and I have nothing else to say kundi amen. Everything is really coming from God."

RIVALRY WITH BPCI. Ipinapanalangin ni Cory na hindi maaapektuhan ang pagkakaibigan niya with the people of Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. sa paghawak niya ng Miss World-Philippines.

"I pray na walang mangyaring gano'n because I've been friends with Ms. Stella Marquez-Araneta for a very long time. And the rest of the people of BPCI. I just want people to know na trabaho lang ito. Nothing personal at all.

"In fact, I've already reached out to them noong in-offer sa akin ang franchise. That was also noong nakaraang January. I called their office, pero wala raw doon si Mrs. Araneta. So I left a message kung puwede ba kaming mag-usap over dinner because of these things happening. But I never received a reply from anyone up to this day.

"It's okay naman because that's the way it is. Sabi nga ng iba, business lang ito. And no one should take it personally.

"Ako naman, if they are willing to still talk with me, I'm always open para sa kanila. I will still wait for that reply from them."

FORMAL LAUNCH. Dinaluhan ito ng maraming designers, stylists, talent scouts, press and media people, at former title holders tulad nila Maria Isabel Lopez (Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 1982), Simonette delos Reyes (Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 1970), at Maggie Wilson-Consunji (Bb. Pilipinas-World 2007).

Ani Cory, "I'd like to thank the people who came to the launch. Halos lahat ng mga inimbita namin ay dumating. I am overwhelmed by it all. Everyone is happy that we have this new pageant and it will be aired on GMA-7.

"I would personally like to thank the people of the Kapuso Network for really giving this a chance. Hindi nila ako pinahirapan. Umoo kaagad sila sa request ko. Pangako nga nila, they will do what's best for Miss World-Philippines. Kaya naman sobra ang pasasalamat ko sa kanilang suporta."

Ang magwawagi ng titulong Miss World-Philippines 2011 ay makakatanggap ng cash prize na P1 million at isang brand new condominium unit courtesy of SMDC.

Open na ang applications for Miss World-Philippines at puwede nang mag-download ng application form sa http://www.missworldphilippines.com or pumunta nang personal sa kanilang office sa Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

This April na ang simula ng screening of applicants (from Metro Manila and from other regions) hanggang June 15, 2011.

Donald Trump has doubt about Obama was born in United States

Donald Trump
Donald Trump has a doubt that President Barack Obama was born in United States particularly in Hawaii because he said that nobody could remember him until late when he was a grown up man. Donald felt strange that nobody new Obama as a child in Hawaii. You can't run as a president in United states if you are not naturally born in such country.

Donald Trump is more serious about his intention to run for president under Republican Party in 2012. He said that if he will not be nominated in the party and he will run independently. Donald Trump is a billionaire and he think that it make him beautiful.

Here is an interview about current issues and strategy if hi will become the next president.

Donald Trump, who says he's weighing a run for president next year, waded into the "birther" controversy this week, telling ABC's"Good Morning America" that he has "a little doubt" that Barack Obama was born in the United States.

The reason? Trump said he finds it strange that "nobody knew" Obama as a young child in Hawaii.

"Let me tell you . . . if I got the nomination, if I decide to run, you may go back and interview people from my kindergarten. They'll remember me. [With Obama,] nobody comes forward. Nobody knows who he is until later in his life. It's very strange."

Birther proponents claim Obama cannot constitutionally serve as president because he isn't a natural born citizen. In 2008, the Obama campaign produced a certification of live birth showing he was born in Honolulu, and Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie has said he was a friend of Obama's parents and remembers when the future president was born -- but none of that has placated birthers.

On other matters, the always outspoken Trump didn't hold back.

- On his intentions to run for president: "I have never been so serious as I am now." (After the interview, reporter Ashleigh Banfield said Trump told her that he would consider running as an independent if he didn't win the GOP nomination.)

- On his willingness to spend $600 million of his own money on a campaign: "Part of the beauty of me is that I'm very rich."

- On the turmoil in Libya: He called for a "surgical strike" to take out Moammar Gadhafi.

- On Somali pirates: "Give me an admiral and a couple ships. I would wipe them out of the sea so fast."

- On China: "While we spend billions of dollars a week on being policeman for the world, China is spending billions a day taking over the world economically. That's not a good formula for us."

- On Charlie Sheen: "I know Charlie Sheen . . . he's wonderful, but he's a disaster."

Who is Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Taylor is perhaps the most beautiful actress in Hollywood while Marilyn Monroe is the sexiest. But who is really Elizabeth Taylor? We knew her as the best friend of Michael Jackson, as humanitarian being and who married eight times. Well here is an article about the last star in Hollywood.

Elizabeth Taylor
Taylor's legendary beauty preceded her first films. According to legend, a talent scout spotted her playing as a child and tried to interest her mother in putting her up for the role of Bonnie Blue Butler in Gone with the Wind (1939). She started dancing at three in her native London, where she performed in a recital for Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret. When World War II started, her art dealer father sent the girl and her mother to California to escape the Blitz.

She made her big-screen debut opposite "Our Gang" star Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer in There's One Born Every Minute (1942).Her first Metro film was Lassie Come Home (1943), which started a lifelong friendship with co-star Roddy McDowall.Taylor worked out for months to win the role of Velvet Brown in National Velvet (1944), a project that years earlier had been planned for Katharine Hepburn. The critical and box-office success made it clear that Taylor was a very special child indeed.

Taylor's first grown-up roles were mainly built around her beauty. All she had to do was look good while Robert Taylor fought for her honor in Ivanhoe (1952) or Stewart Granger tried to make his fortune in Beau Brummell (1954). But the talents that had made National Velvet so successful were still there, waiting for the right vehicle. She found one such part when MGM loaned her to Paramount for A Place in the Sun (1951). Taylor realized how much she wanted to be respected as an actress, and such hints of a more mature approach to her work can be seen in Rhapsody (1954), in which she plays an heiress involved with the classical music world, and Elephant Walk (1954), as a plantation owner's wife torn between her husband and his plantation manager. The film made her more beautiful than ever, which may have blinded critics to the quality of her work.

Taylor took another stab at a Tennessee Williams adaptation, co-starring with Clift and Katharine Hepburn in Suddenly, Last Summer (1959). The film brought her third Oscar® nomination. 20th Century-Fox had offered her the title role in their epic Cleopatra (1963), prompting her to jokingly demand $1 million, the highest fee ever paid an actor at that time. When they compromised on $750,000 and a percentage, she couldn't say, "No." But she still owed MGM one more film. With no time to turn anything down, they stuck her in Butterfield 8 (1960), a turgid adaptation of John O'Hara's novel about a high-priced call girl. When the studio screened it for her, she threw a drink at the screen. Still, she gave a respectable performance and won her fourth Oscar® nomination in as many years.

The Sandpiper (1965), a turgid romance with bohemian artist Taylor falling for married priest Burton, and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966), are their best film together. Her searing performance brought her a second Oscar®, and this time she could feel that it was deserved.

When it came to her work with HIV/AIDS-related charities, including the American Foundation for AIDS Research, better known as amfAR, and her own Elizabeth Taylor HIV/AIDS Foundation, the actress was an unstoppable force committed to doing all she could to see the public educated about the realities of the disease.

Taylor took a major personal risk in speaking out on the issue of HIV/AIDS in the mid-1980s, long before then-President Ronald Reagan ever spoke on the issue and years before it became a fashionable cause to support.Dame Taylor was an icon not only in Hollywood, but in the LGBT community, where she worked to ensure that everyone was treated with the respect and dignity we all deserve. After her good friend Rock Hudson died from complications from AIDS, Taylor, alongside Dr. Michael S. Gottlieb, created the National AIDS Research Foundation in Los Angeles, which merged with the New York-based AIDS Medical Foundation in September 1985 to become amfAR, securing and raising funds for HIV/AIDS research, expanding access to care and treatment for all AIDS patients and protecting the civil rights of those living with the disease, and has raised nearly $325 million to fund its multifaceted mission.

Taylor testified before Congress to ensure Senate support for the Ryan White CARE Act of 1990, which continues to be a primary source of federal funding for HIV/AIDS programs nationwide, and in 1991, started The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation to complement amfAR's work as well as provide more direct AIDS-related
