Piolo Pascual wants to be taken seriously as a singer

Piolo Pascual
Piolo Pascual is not only an actor but a singer too. I like his voice and love his music although some of them are revivals. Piolo Pascual will serenade his fans this coming February 14, 2011 together with Ryan Cayabyab. The show is entitle "Piolo meets the Maestro Ryan Cayabyab". The heartthrob will be sing the ballad arrangement of Ryan.

Piolo Pascual is thankful because after these years his fans are still there. He sings in the Philippines and abroad and released album almost every year. He said that want to be a serious singer too.

Here is the complete article about this taken from Push:

Piolo Pascual is set to serenade his fans this Valentine’s Day at his major concert entitled Piolo meets the Maestro Ryan Cayabyab on February 14 at the PICC Plenary Hall. The Ultimate Heartthrob will be performing some of the most loved ballads arranged by renowned composer/musician Ryan Cayabyab. Piolo said he is just thankful that in the years that he’s been doing concerts here and abroad and releasing studio albums, the support of his fans has remained unwavering. “I’ve just released my seventh album. Halos every year yata nagre-release ako ng album. Modesty aside, naging okay naman ‘yung response ng tao. Siguro I’ve been more exposed abroad. Average of four or five shows ang ginagawa ko abroad in a year. Ten years na akong nagto-tour abroad.”

Piolo started out in showbiz as an actor/model. It was only in the early 2000s after he became a mainstay on the musical variety show ASAP did he discover that he could actually sing. Together with his then all male group The Hunks which included Diether Ocampo, Jericho Rosales, Carlos Agassi, and Bernard Palanca, he would do concerts around the country and other parts of the globe, which were all sold-out events. Piolo continued his venture into music by recording one album after another.

But does Piolo really want to be taken seriously as a singer, or is music just a pastime he enjoys doing on the side? He explained that given the massive support from fans for his albums and concerts over the past years, he will continue to take music very seriously. “I’m more known as an actor but with the chance that I’m given, to perform live in front of people, I don’t want to limit myself. If I can sing in ASAP and in shows abroad, I’ll do what I can do. I’ll do what I feel is best for me. I can’t say how I want to be viewed in terms of music. But I’ll keep doing this as long as there are producers out there who want me to do an album or a concert and of course people who want to listen and watch me.”

However, Maestro Ryan pointed out one obstacle that his hindering Piolo from proving to the public that he can really sing. Based on Ryan’s experience doing concerts with Piolo Pascual in the past, the audience, most especially the ladies, would rather swoon over the handsome man than listen to his voice. “Ang hirap kasi sa mga artistang katulad ni Piolo, paglabas pa lang sa stage, magtitilian na lahat ng tao. Wala ka nang maririnig sa kanta kasi puro tilian na lang hanggang matapos ‘yung show. All the ladies umaakyat na ng stage para magpa-picture. We’re talking about seven thousand people. Dati nga nakita ko ‘yung expression sa mukha ni Piolo, ‘Mr. C, itutuloy pa ba natin ito?’ So, I want to present him as a singer-performer. Gusto ko makita talaga ng mga tao ang talent niya sa performing.”

Piolo Pascual Reacts to Phil Younghusband's crush on KC

Piolo Pascual was asked about his opinion with regards to Askal's Phil Younghusband feeling towards KC Concepcion during the Showbiz News Ngayon. He said that he has nothing against his feeling because everyone is entitled to his own feeling. We all know that Piolo and KC are closed to each other but none of them said that they are officially a couple.

Piolo Pascual was also asked by some reporters about his opinion regarding the kissing scene of KC and Sam Milby. But he said that they can do it because she is an actress and it is a part of work. KC on the other hand affirmed what Piolo had said.

Piolo and KC has done "Love in Paris" before together with Zanjoe Marudo.

Here is the news about this taken from ABS-CBN:

MANILA, Philippines – Hunk actor Piolo Pascual has given his reaction to Azkals heartthrob Phil Younghusband's public declaration that he has a crush on actress KC Concepcion.
In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon” during the unveiling of the QuattroMondial monument at the University of Sto. Tomas on Thusday, Pascual disclosed that he does not have anything against Younghusband since anybody is entitled to his or her own feelings.
“I guess anybody is entitled to that. Hindi naman mapipigilan ang mga tao to express their intention or say what they feel. May security naman so wala tayong problema,” he said.
Although they never admitted that they are officially a couple, Pascual and Concepcion have been vocal about their closeness.

Piolo Pascual, meanwhile, belied reports saying that he is prohibiting Concepcion from doing a kissing scene with actor Sam Milby in their upcoming movie.
“That’s work. She can do anything. She’s an actress,” he said.
Concepcion, on the other hand, affirmed what Pascual said.
“I don’t think that’s true. Very dedicated si Piolo sa work niya bilang aktor. Bakit niya kailangan ma-affect. Si PJ pa, napakasensible na tao,” she said.
Concepcion and Milby are set to do a movie under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina.

Penelope Cruz Gave birth; Javier Bardem is now a father

Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem

Penelope Cruz is one of my favorite actresses of all time. I first saw her in "Belle Epoque" in 1994 when this film won best foreign film category in Oscar. She was young then and very beautiful little did I know that she will become one of the best and known actress in the world. She was also linked to Tom Cruise and did "Vanilla Sky" which was a repeat for her because she did it already this film in Spain with Eduardo Noriega. Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem met each other when they did "Jamon! Jamon!" in 1992. There last film was in 2008 "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" in which Penelope Cruz won best supporting actress in academy awards or Oscar.

Here is the complete news about her and Javier from ABS-CBN:

MADRID - Oscar-winning Spanish film stars Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem have become the parents of a baby boy, their first child, born in Los Angeles, Spanish media reported Wednesday.
Cruz gave birth at the Cedars Sinai medical centre in Beverly Hills on Saturday, the Spanish celebrity magazine Hola! said on its website.

It gave no details on the name of the boy or his birth weight.
The birth came just three days before Bardem received his third Academy Award nomination, for his performance in the film "Biutiful" by Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.
Cruz, 36, and Bardem, 41, met when they starred opposite each other as lusty teens in the Spanish film "Jamon, Jamon," back in 1992.

In 2008 they were back together on the silver screen in Woody Allen's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona", for which Cruz won an Academy Award as best supporting actress.
The couple married in July last year at a ceremony in the Bahamas.
Bardem, also nominated for an Oscar in "Before Night Falls" (2000), won an Academy Award in 2007 for his role in "No Country for Old Men."

Spain's leading daily, El Pais, also reported the couple had become parents but did not provide details as to when the baby was born or whether it was a boy or a girl.
It said "friends of Bardem began to suspect (the baby was born) when the actor did not respond to any calls to congratulate him on his (Oscar) nomination."

"The couple want to have as much privacy as possible," the paper said on its website, quoting family sources.
The agency representing the couple in Spain declined to comment on the reports.
The actors had kept their romance quiet for years, but Bardem got personal when he won a best actor award at Cannes film festival in May for his role in "Biutiful."
"I share the joy of this prize with my friend, my companion, my love, Penelope Cruz," Bardem said at the time.
"I owe you so much, and I love you very much," Bardem said, drawing tears from Cruz, a longtime muse of Spanish director Pedro Almodovar.

Hola! said Cruz's mother, Encarna, sister Monica, also an actress, and her brother Eduardo were in Los Angeles for the birth at Cedars Sinai, the hospital of choice for Hollywood stars.
It said Bardem's mother, well-known Spanish actress Pilar Bardem, traveled from Madrid on Monday to meet her grandson.
